To make the best endurance road tire we started with one of our best, the Kountach. We kept the attributes of the original Kountach including our dual compound R2C and the supple 120 TPI casing and then supercharged it with our updated Endurance 1 technology. The end result is the Kountach Endurance, a tire that features bead to bead K-Armor flat protection and a secondary layer of belted K-Armor under the tread rubber. This dual layering of K-Armor leaves you with a true lightweight racing caliber tire that is just as home in a criterium as it is logging the long miles of Gran Fondo. The Kountach Endurance gives the performance you’re looking for with the peace of mind that you’re riding on the most puncture resistant race tire in the industry.
R2C (R2C)
Kenda’s road-specific dual compound blends traction and speed. R2C tires contain rubber with two different Shore-A measurements, the center compound is 70sA, for rolling speed, while the shoulders utilize a tacky 60sA compound for increased confidence in corners. Compared to R3C it is lighter but has a slightly higher rolling resistance.
ENDURANCE 1 (END1)
The pinnacle of dual layer flat protection, the Endurance 1 is Kenda’s highest protection level, taking the bead to bead Aramid protection of Iron Cloak on a 120tpi casing and then topping it off with another layer of Iron Cloak at the tread area. The true double layer Aramid protection at the tread with a single layer guarding the sidewalls will protect for mile after mile.
REFLECTIVE HOT PATCH (RHP)
A reflective hot patch on the tire’s side generates better visibility at night or during conditions where visibility is limited – an important plus for the rider’s safety.
DRY PAVEMENT (DP)
Best for Dry Pavement.
WET PAVEMENT (WP)
Best for Wet Pavement.
